Lucinda and Joseph’s wedding at The Old Timber Store, Maltby Street Market, was the definition of relaxed London cool. As an Old Timber Store wedding photographer, I loved documenting a day that felt intimate, unfussy and beautifully styled, centred entirely around good people, great food and a very easygoing sense of joy.
The venue itself set the tone perfectly. Exposed brick, warm lighting and market energy gave the whole day a laid back, dinner party feel rather than anything formal or staged. Guests mingled with drinks in hand, the buzz of Maltby Street just outside the door, and there was a real sense that everyone there was simply happy to be celebrating together.
Lucinda and Joseph’s approach to their wedding was refreshingly simple. No stiff formalities, no forced moments, just good conversation, delicious food and plenty of laughter carrying through the evening. As the night went on, the celebrations moved to Jihwaja Karaoke, where guests let loose with some very enthusiastic singing and even more enthusiastic dancing.
If you’re planning a wedding at The Old Timber Store and want it to feel more effortless dinner party than formal production, this one is worth bookmarking. It’s a beautiful example of what the space can become in the right hands.
